Hi! I’m Leah! Welcome to Soaking in Life…the place where I share all about those things that really crank my tractor (as my friend Carol would say)…living frugally, recipes, DIY, travel, decorating for holidays, organizing tips, crafting, great reads, homemaking, etc.

I am passionate about living the abundant life God has so graciously given me, but I strive to find ways to do it simply and inexpensively. I learn so much from my fellow bloggers, so I pray that some of what I share here might be a blessing to many of you.

Some of you may have found me first over at Out of Deep Waters, my electronic oasis and ministry birthed out the tragic death of my late husband, Chris, several years ago. That remains the place where I share how that life-changing experience (along with many others) caused me to temporarily “sink” into some pretty deep waters. Thankfully, I was rescued and restored, thereby making me able to now SOAK…IN…LIFE both fully and simply.

Since that time, I re-married to my prince, Joel, and together we parented 9 children, three of whom were adopted from Bulgaria in November 2015 and one from foster care in 2016. Fast forward to February 2017 when life ushered in another tragedy when I became widowed a second time. Yes…my husband Joel joined Chris in Heaven, and I was left to raise our four youngest, special-needs children alone. Life has certainly never boring in my family! And yet…even through the tragedies…I’ve learned to find life’s abundance in the mundane by simply living fully all while fully living simply.
